Submissions Guidelines for the Essay Awards

  • Submissions must be made through the online submission system via https://award.sabanciuniv.edu/submityourentryform
  • Submitted manuscripts must be closely related to the award theme.
  • Manuscripts must be unpublished original work and not be forthcoming or simultaneously under review elsewhere as of the award date (April 10th of the following year, unless otherwise specified in the call for papers).
  • Unpublished working papers available online as a working paper (e.g., NBER, CEPR) or on personal or departmental websites are eligible, provided that they are not published, in press, or under review elsewhere.
  • All authors must be eligible (i.e., born in or after 1981) to apply. In case of co-authored submissions, all authors must be eligible to apply.
  • Manuscripts must be in PDF format.
  • Submissions must be anonymous. Please eliminate any indications that may help identify the coauthors.
  • Figures and tables should be enumerated and placed in the body of the text. Citations to (co-)authors' own published work should be made in the third person.
  • There are no formatting (e.g., font size, line spacing) or citation style requirements.
  • An anonymized version of the manuscript, which includes appendices, if any, and excludes any author-identifying information, such as authors’ names and affiliations, expressions of appreciation to others, statements of previous presentations, acknowledgments of support for the research, or citations to the authors' unpublished works, must be uploaded to the online submission system.
  • The corresponding author's CV must be uploaded to the online submission system.
  • A separate title page featuring an abstract of no more than 150 words, all authors' names, affiliations, and contact details, and acknowledgments must be uploaded to the online submission system.
  • Deadline for the submissions: January 15th, 2026
